#12 - Zwei Kleine Italiener was also #87 on the Europe Decade List of the 1960's that you use. (www.apcchart.com).
Our (older) version has "Hair" by Zen as the 87th entry for the 1960s. We'll have to update at some point

Cynthia Pepper
She had her own TV show called "Margie". In '61 or '62 she came out with a record on the Felstad Label called "A First Time Love". Any chance you may know where that charted... if at all?
We don't have any hits anywhere by Cynthia Pepper

"The Way I Am"
I Can't think of the artist but the whole phrase was "And that's why you see me the way I am". It might have been a country song-sort of a crossover. I may even be off a year or two. Can you tell me the artist and the year of the song "The Way I Am"?
Jackie Wilson - 1961
Listed in the index under "Way I am, the", or typing "The Way I am" into the search box would have found it.

Come September/Berlin Melody Billy Vaughn
I don't find anything here about this single release: Berlin Melody was Top 30 in Germany, top 100 USA, while Come September was a hit in most of the Latin/South American countries including among the Top 100 songs of the year in Brazil.
Is there a source chart we can use?

Re: +desperate to find a song (11 July 2011) +
Hi there, I asked you about a song I thought was popular in 1962 (see my email of 11 July 2011). Well, I was just listening to an interview of Randy Bachman and he mentioned (in passing) the group Little Caesar and the Consuls and for some reason it rang a bell in my head - I googled the group`s name and up came their discography. It included a song called IF (I found a new girl). This is the song I have been trying to remember forever!! It was actually a hit from 1963 so I was off one year. So now I can finally sleep at night. Thanks for your help with this. Cheers.

?99 Heartbreak Avenue will be just another memory
In summer 1963 at a holiday camp in Yorkshire I remember a primitive song video on a sort of juke box. Presumably a film loop. the title of the ever repeated song was as above - but I cannot recall the actual number on Heartbreak Avenue. I thought the singer was Susan Maughn but it does not appear on her lists. I also have some memory of an Australian connection. Any Ideas??
We don't have any hits listed with "Heartbreak Ave" at all.
We do have four hits by Susan Maughan:
"Bobby's Girl" (1962) - UK 3 - Oct 1962 (19 weeks), Norway 6 - Dec 1962 (6 weeks), NZ Lever 6 - Dec 1962 (2 weeks), UKMIX 512
"Hand A Handkerchief To Helen" (1963) - UK 41 - Feb 1963 (3 weeks)
"She's New To You" (1963) - UK 45 - May 1963 (3 weeks)
"Big Tom Is Still The King" (1977) - Eire 1 for 2 weeks - Jun 1977

desperate to find a song
Hi there....great site and very detailed. I know this isn't your primary aim on your site but I was wondering if you could help me? I am desperate to find a song and the group who sang it. I believe its from around 1962 because I associate with grade 9...but it could be a year before or after. I have looked on every possible site under the Google Sun but no luck.
The only thing I recall about it is that it was a solo voice with a group (all guys I believe)in the background. +It was a very slow, haunting song and the first line as I recall it was: "If...I found somebody....who loved me like I love you...I don't know, I don't know my darling, what I'd do...I don't know what I'd do".
And that's all I know about it. Even my friends and family who were around at the time don't recall this song. I hope I didn't dream it!!
Anyway, if you have any insight as to who sang this song, it's original title, or in fact if it even exists I would be truly indebted to you.
Thanks for your time and help
Nothing springs to mind. You might try looking at Motown groups, they sound about the right era.

#44 Brian Hyland - Sealed with a kiss
I found this song peaked number one this same year in the Canadian list (please see Chart #277 on July 16, 1962) but it seems not considered in the above list. I have so much confidence in your reports that I am almost sure that I am wrong.
Could you please check it?
We carefully reviewed your suggestion, and, you are correct, this song was in the original chart and has been dropped during later processing. On further inspection we found 16 other songs that seem to have been incorrectly removed as well, we cannot see any pattern to these errors, so the tracks have all been reinstated.
Now we'll go back through our records to try and track down exactly when this mistake occurred (in case a similar error affected any other charts).
Thanks for the correction
