Midnight Madness???

I have been looking for a 45 since 1959, which I think may have been calledMidnight Madness, back in 1958-59. It was a piano instrumental, except for the words, "I play for you, Midnight Madness" at the begining. I have no idea who the artist was. Can you +help me?

I thought this is a list of all #1 in USA in 1958 but how come we have 100 songs on the list when the year has only 52 weeks?

You obviously didn't read the text on this page (or anywhere else on this site). This list is the 100 biggest songs of 1958 in the world (not just the US).

For example Dean Martin's version of "Volare" was a hit in Australia, the UK and Norway, while "Witch Doctor" by David Seville & The Chipmunks was only a hit in North America. That's why "Volare" (which peaked at 15 in Billboard) is above "Witch Doctor" (which got to number 1).

We list the US nunber ones elsewhere

These two appear to be the same recording.

Tony Dallara was an Italian singer, of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Dalida (Yolanda Gigliotti) was a naturalised French singer (born in Cairo) who had hits in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. One was a man the other a woman. They are not the same person.

I listened to Radio Luxembourg in the late fifties and one song still hauntsme to this day. All I can remember is one line "start moving in my direction and start our loving tonight" I would love to know the title and who sang it

The song is "Start Movin' (In My Direction)" by Sal Mineo and it was a hit in 1957 reaching number 4 in Canada, number 10 in the US and number 16 in the UK.

Perry Como 1958 Kewpie Doll

I noticed that the 1958 page (Version 1.8.0052) does NOT include Perry Como's Kewpie Doll. I believe this song entered the US chart on 4/26/1958 and peaked at #12 on May 24, and spent a total of 12 weeks on the Billboard chart altogether.

Of course the small number of charts for 1958 means that the difference between song #100 of the year and song #109 is fairly arbitrary, however this Perry Como song didn't quite make the cut.

If you look at Perry Como's page you will see that "Kewpie Doll" is listed there (as #28 in the 1.8.0052 data). As the entry there shows our information mostly agrees with yours, the song entered the Billboard charts in Apr 1958 and peaked at #12, however our listing says it spent 16 weeks in the top 100 rather than the 12 you have. According to our data it spent 12 weeks in the top 50. That listing also shows that the song peaked at #9 in the UK, #11 in Canada and is RYM's #192 of 1958.
