Rhapsody In Blue 1924
While George Gershwin was indeed the composer for Rhapsody In Blue, the 1924recording was performed by the Paul Whiteman Orchestra so they should be given primary credit for the sake of consistently, although the composer himself was at the piano.+

Sippie Wallace "The Man I Love"
How can this be a 1924 hit when it wasn't recorded until August 1925?+
You need to look at the FAQ "Why is the year for XXX listed as 19XX?"
The "Jazz Standards" list claims it was from 1924

#1 & 36 Rhapsody in Blue
Both of these recordings are by Paul Whiteman & his Orchestra with GeorgeGershwin at the piano. The first one is from 1924 and the second one from 1927. I would think the second one should be moved to the 1927 list.
If we change the credit for the 1924 recording to George Gershwin that will (sort of) sort out the confusion
Thanks for telling us the issue

1924 - What a fantastic year that was !
1924 was the year I was born. Of the above songs, I know twenty-four of them and can play them on my keyboard. I wonder how many of the songs of 2012 will be remembered in Eighty-eight year's time?
