Slade can't have had an American hit in 1958 (all four were still at school!).This is by an American vocal outfit called The Slades, with that extra S.

The Slades (plural) were a four-piece doo-wop outfit from Texas, and it wasthey who enjoyed a Billboard Top Fifty hit in 1958 with "You cheated".
