According to BILLBOARD MAGAZINE issued on the 30th March68, the single, was at least n2 in Spain and topped the charts in Malaysia and Singapore, respectively.(page 61) As a true fan,I never give up. Sorry for the mistakes,English language is not my mother tongue. All the best for 2012. Kind regards Jose Manuel. Thanks for the information As we mentioned before we can only use complete chart runs, not individual entries. If we add entries for Tom Jones it artificially boosts his ratings, if we add all entries for 1968 (for example from Malaysia) then it gives other artists a similar boost and the results stay valid. If you can point us to a location where we can load the complete charts for 1968 for Malaysia, Singapore or even Spain we will gladly process them and include them in the site. With individual entries all we can do is add your note to the page so that other readers can see the results you got (which of course we have done) 29 Jan 2011 tom jones' charts Well, on "Tom Jones' visual discography" or txhighlands.com/ Then you click on"Decca Recording 1964-1970, research & compilation by John Tracy for Deram Records. Best Regards. You misunderstand. We can see that this listing has all of Tom Jones' hits. We can't use it because it doesn't have any other artists, we need complete charts with all the artists listed. Otherwise our positions would be distorted towards the artists we are happy to spend time researching.
16 Jan 2011 tom jones' charts Hello everybody, on Tom jones' visual discography 2005, you have far more informations about songs which entered the hit parade, between 1964/70. To take an exemple, CHILLS AND FEVER was a top 10 +in Australia(#9) Once upon a time was #17 in Australia, too. My best regards and have a great year 2011. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately we can only use complete charts. If you can tell us where we can access these complete charts we can add the positions to the site. 20 Nov 2010 tom jones Thank you so much to back up my comments about Sir Tom Jones'charts in those countries.I do hope that in the future,I could provide you some documents. Good evening.+ 16 Nov 2010 Tom Jones chart positions Hello, I'm also a Tom Jones fan and I live in Flanders (Bruges). Maybe I can help a little bit about the chartpositions of Sir Tom in Spain and Flanders. You can find the Flemish chartpositions on the website of Flanders Hitparade. Green, green grass of home: 8 weeks #1 (14/1/1967 - 4/3/1967) I'm coming home: 6 weeks #1 +(23/12/1967 - 27/1/1968) Delilah: 4 weeks #1 (30/3/1968 - 20/4/1968) Help Yourself: 5 weeks #1 (24/8/1968 - 21/9/1968) The main Hitparade in Flanders at that time was "Humo's Top 20". From 1970 was the main Hitparade the BRT (this days radio 2) Top 30. In that Hitparade was Tom Jones #1 with "She's a Lady" on 20/2/1971. That about Flanders. And now Spain. The main Hitparade of Spain was the music magazine Los Superventas. You can find the information on the archive of Spanishcharts.com TOM JONES Singles charts ++ peak/ x #1/ weeks 1965 It's not unusual 12 /19/ 1966 Thunderball 18 /1/ 1966 To make a big man cry 4 /13/ 1967 Green green grass of home 8 /3/ 1967 Detroit city / Ten guitars 16 /1/ 1967 I'll never fall in love again 14 /11/ 1968 I'm coming home 1 /x4/ /25/ +4 x #1 1968 Delilah 1 /x16/ /32/ +16 x #1 1968 Help yourself 3 /14/ 1969 Love me tonight 20 /7/ 1969 A minute of your time 26 /1/ 1970 Without love 15 /2/ 1970 Daughter of darkness 22 /2/ 1971 She's a lady 19 /2/ 1972 Till 26 /2/ 1975 Something 'bout you baby I like 6 /14/ 1988 Kiss (The Art of noise feat...) 1 /23/ + 1 x #1 1997 You can leave your hat on (The Full monty soundtrack) 9 /4/ 2000 Sex bomb 2 /26/ Tom Jones in the albums charts: 1969 This is Tom Jones #7 1975 Something 'bout you baby I like #7 1999 Reload #2 +(2 x Platinum) 2000 Gold (Greatest Hits) #1 /x3/ + 3 x #1 +(2 x Platinum) 2008 24 hours #89/2 Hopefully, I gave some help and also some extra information.
Unfortunately we can't use sites like "SpanishCharts.com", they only let you search for particular artists, it is too easy to miss out an artist and so fail to get all the data. The other site you mention, "Flanders Hitparade", does have the complete chart available. As you say the data seems to follow the "Radio 2" chart after July 1970 (and we already have a more detailed version of their data directly from their site). But for the period between 1955 and 1970 this looks like a good source for the Belgian charts, so we have added it to the site. Thanks for the input. 22 Oct 2010 tom jones Thank you for your quick answers. Unfortunately I have not such documents to provide to. I just got the informations, years ago, from spanish, belgian& french magazines. I thought, they were reliable sources. Best regards. They could well be reliable, but since we don't have the orginal data we can't use it here.
20 Oct 2010 resurrection shuffle In addition to my comments(19th october) the track issued from the LP "SHE S A LADY" decca 84007 was top 10 in france, july 1971 Have a nice day. 19 Oct 2010 tom jones hit parade I'm coming home/Delilah were both n 1 in Spain(1968)decca It's not unusual was 4 in France. decca What's new pussycat ? was 3 IN Australia decca Thunderball(from the James Bond film) made 6 in Belgium decca Delilah reached the appex position in South Africa on decca too. Best regards, from a TOM JONES' Fan. To pick an example our listing of the Spanish number 1s does not cover 1968, so we are sure that you are correct. However our self imposed site rules don't allow us to insert individual entries, we have to add a complete music chart at a time. That way we reflect the music in the charts at the time rather than focusing on the music that active fans like yourself continue to document. If you can provide any publushed sources for your suggestions, such as web sites with charts covering the periods you mention, we will happily include them in our listings. 18 Oct 2010 tom jones'singles Hello everybody, I would like to know how many gold records tom jones got with "I'm coming home" released in late 1967. THANK YOU In our listing we have Gold award lists from the US, UK, France, Germany and some other countries. None of them mantion this song. In the case of the US & UK this is probably because it didn't get a Gold disk in those countries. For France and Germany we don't have a reliable source of Gold records going back that far, so it may have got one in either one. We only collect Gold type awards for major markets, the reason is that in order to get a gold record you not only have to sell enough copies you also have to pay to have your sales certified. So the fact that a particular track didn't get a gold record means only that no one ever paid to have a certificate issued, not that it didn't sell that well. So our final answer to your question is "we don't know" |
