#4 - Elvis & #58 - Rock n' Roll No. 2
Please take another look at this. I feel the following Chart Entry should beremoved from #4 & transferred to a separate 1973 album titled "Elvis'. This Chart Entry is UK 16 - 4 weeks (Sept. 1973). This would allow you to transfer the following Chart Entry from #58 (Rock n' Roll No. 2) to #4 (Elvis). UK 3 - 20 weeks (May 1957). This would make the data more accurate since, per Wikipedia the album titled "Elvis" was known in the UK as "Rock n' Roll No. 2". Thanks.
Ah the joys of Elvis Presley album titles. If we understand your suggestion the UK 1973 entry should be renamed as "Elvis (1973)" so that the 1957 album can be called "Elvis"?
Given that you have researched we'll follow your suggestion

(1) Triple Listing & (1) Double Listing
#1 & #37 & #65 are the same. Per Wikipedia, the album titled "Elvis Presley" was known as "Elvis Presley Rock n Roll" in the UK. Also #4 & #60 are the same. Per Wikipedia the album titled "Elvis" was known as "Rock n Roll No. 2" in the UK.
The first looks OK, we've done that, but the second is more complicated. The album called "Elvis" in the US may have been the same as "Rock n Roll No. 2" in the UK, but there is another album (almost certainly different) called "Elvis" in the UK that was a hit in 1973.
The fact is that Elvis (and, for example The Beatles) had a habit of releasing the same albums with different names in different countries and different albums with the same names. Given that reality we think the current data (and this explination on the same page) provide the best chance of a reader untangling it.

Double Listing-Sun Sessions/Sun Collection
I'm pretty sure #20 & #39 are the same (based on time frame). The Library ofCongress Chart entry should definitely be transferred from the Sun Collection (#39) to The Sun Sessions (#20).
This is actually a really interesting one. The UK album published by Pickwick was different from the US album, but close enough that the name should be merged. The Library of Congress entry is for the "Sun Records sessions" which is a group of singles (credited as being released in 1954) rather than the album (released in 1975) so strictly speaking also shouldn't be confused with the album. However in both cases clearly the actual content is the same as that on the album, so we've agreed with your suggestion

Extended Play charts
Extended Play records should be included in your chart history.
They easily outsold albums during the fifties.
Elvis and Sinatra dominated the EP charts,and that chart should be added toany fifties artist tallies.
We already use the EP charts that we have. If you have any specific sources to suggest please tell us the source

Elvis Christmas album
The only diamond disc Elvis has is his Christmas album of 10 million copies sold you have it listed at 9.
We deal with charts as complete (and hence consistent) items. When we obtained that data the number was as shown. We cannot update single entries, only complete charts. Do you know where we could obtain the latest version?

You missed! Where are the other US charts? Initial Elvis Presley singles also sold in (C&W) & (R&B),and later (Easy Listening). This made (one example) a ditty like Heartbreak Hotel easily MORE popular than ANY Beatles single-selling into CW & R&B charts as well.Later,1960s Elvis LPs also apppeared on the C&W charts,in fact bettering his "pop" placings.You should also apply this to the likes of many others, including Little Richard,Chuck Berry,Lerry lee Lewis and Johnny Cash.
We don't use any genre based charts unless there is a good reason to.

WHO HAD THE MOST NUMBER ONES?
It must be remembered that alot of Elvis' sales were lost through the years and probably lost forever. Also, Elvis' label failed to get much of Elvis' releases certified by paying the fee to do so. Also, by the time the Beatles and the British Invasion arrived many countries had more accurate sales charts. The Beatles obviously were the ones that benefitted the most from that. The facts are this, you don't see millions visiting John Lennon's or Paul McCartney's home every year.
Your main point is exactly right. The count of number 1s obviously depends on the number of charts that were active at the time (and place). When Elvis was at his peak there were fewer charts, so less chance to be number 1.
However the number of charts was increasing all the way up to the year 1970 so if that were the only factor then one would expect a group from the 1970s, 1980s or 1990s to lead the count. In addition Elvis was releasing music up to 1977, in our listing he was the second biggest act of the 1960s (after The Beatles) so he should have also benefited from the greater number of charts as well.
We have tried a number of approaches to allow acts from different decades to be compared, none of which is completely satisfactory. In terms of song success we feel that it is possible to argue for either Elvis or The Beatles to have been the most successful act of all time (or at a stretch Glenn Miller, Bing Crosby or possibly even Madonna). Whichever reasonable metric is used these acts consistently come out ahead of the rest of the pack (of course vocal fans of various other acts claim that they were "bigger than Elvis/The Beatles" but this is usually based on an astounding ignorance of history combined with a belief that making the same ridiculous claims enough times makes them true).
Finally we suspect that the number of visitors to Graceland (600k/year) as compared with say either 20 Forthlin Road or 251 Menlove Avenue (which are both run by the UK National Trust) probably has more to do with the sizes of the properties and the number of tourists in Liverpool. But even so the "number of visitors" metric doesn't seem like a good one to us, for example Dollywood gets at least four times as many visitors as Graceland, I don't think very many people would conclude that Dolly Parton was a bigger star than Elvis!
