This page lists the song chart entries of Nirvana.A list of the hit albums by Nirvana is also available.
The songs are listed with the most widely successful first.
An American rock band that was formed in 1987.
The band consisted of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic
and a succession of drummers, the longest lasting being Dave Grohl.
Despite the fact that the band ceased to exist in 1994 (with the death of
Cobain) it continues to have a major influence.
There was also a British band (formed in 1965) called by
exactly the same name. The song Pentecost Hotel was, of
course by this Nirvana rather than the more famous one.

The 1960s British group Nirvana single 'Rainbow chaser' is supposed to havetopped the Danish charts. Additionally, I have read that their singles 'Tiny goddess' and 'Pentecost hotel' were small hits (bubbling under the top 50) in Britain.

wrong Nirvana!
Need to take Pentecost Hotel off, that was a 1960s band that shared the same band name as the 90s band, but not the same band!
You are of course correct. It was the only minor hit for a British band of the 1960s.
Since we keep a complete record of all chart entries we can't just remove the song. So we have added a note to the top of the page that explains the situation.
