Project Manager

A person that oversees the execution of a project, often following a well defined approach.

There are two main "formal" methodologies for project management, PRINCE2 and PMBoK. In fact both approaches have a common underlying set of ideas and, since each has its own strengths any good project manager should be familiar with both.

Many organisations have adopted "extended" versions of either PRINCE2 or PMBoK as their preferred approach. Most of these end up being a combination of the two approaches.
