Re-sales FNM

Thanks for the reply.. the query was i had was because that King For A Day..has some real strong chart showings (contrary what people say about it being a flop).. That was the reason why i asked about AOTY been higher ranked seemed a little weird.. King was a bigger hit in France,Italy,Netherlands and even Germany (where FNM albums have all done really well). Anyway I do agreeabout Angel Dust been FNM's biggest hit record without a doubt.

Just a question..

with gathering info from various sources, is the fact that certification levels in most countries are outdated?? for instance in the UK FNM's Angel Dust and The Real Thing albums surely sold more than King For A Day which is certified Gold but spent only 6 weeks in charts whereas The Real Thing is Silver but spent 35 weeks in chart!! Same with Angel Dust, it's certified Silver yet it came in at number 60 in the end of year charts in 1992 and spent more than 6 months in top 50..??

Another thing that caught my attention is that you have Album Of The Year higher than King For A Day Fool For A Lifetime..how did you come up with that? BTW keep up the good work.

The chart entries for each album are listed, as is the method we use to calculate a score. Also you can download the complete listing from the versions page and try your own way to play with the numbers

If you find anything interesting we'd like to hear from you

Sales

Hi , a great effort on the charts.

What i really wanna know more of is that Faith No More's Angel Dust is a higher seller tha The Real Thing?? I actually think that this could be correct cuz Angel... had huge success in Europe and South America whereas TRT 's biggest numbers come from The U.S only (with UK and Australia and Brazil)..and You have Album Of The Year higher than King For A Day...is this even possible?

First the ording here is about "success" rather than sales numbers. Mainly because sales numbers vary from year to year (1 million units in 2010 was more success than 1 million units in 1990) but also because quoted sales numbers are always lies.

In the US "Angel Dust" and "The Real Thing" were pretty much as successful as each other, as they were in the other English speaking countries (the UK, Australia etc). The real difference came from Europe "Angel Dust" was a hit in Germany, Austria, Norway, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland and Sweden, while "The Real Thing" was only a hit in Sweden.

"Album Of The Year" was a number 1 hit in Australia which "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime" wasn't, that is the main contributor to its higher final position.
