The very best by far is “Ruby Ruby” by the incredible Clyde McPhatter andthe Drifters

Ruby Ruby Ruby

I also remember Ruby Ruby Ruby, but I can't find any mention of the song anywhere. +I'm positive it was R/B song only played on those radio stations that played black music and possibly oldies.

We suspect you are thinking of The Kaiser Chiefs' song from 2007. Although it did have the line "Ruby, Ruby, Ruby" its title was just "Ruby".

On a 45 a song I think, was ruby, ruby, ruby.!+

I was between 10-14 yrs old, this song was sung by a black artist maybe 40’s & 50’s. I’ll try to remember some words from it. Here goes:

(Ruby ruby ruby, say you love me too, please understand, then sounds like, I need your Loving hand. I’m your loving man. It’s kind of a slow blues song. But the song did exist Back then, can you help? +Thanks. It was sung by a black man.

New song called Ruby

Hello from London,

I want to tell you that I have written and released a song called 'Ruby' on my latest album 'Country girl' by Rebecca Hollweg.

It was released on EMU records in London in 2015 and has been played on BBC Radio 2. Could you add this to your list?

Many thanks, Rebecca Hollweg

Unfortunately the listing here is of all the songs called "Ruby" that have made it into music charts. NOT "the best songs" called that, so we don't get to add (or remove) songs at all. They are either in a chart or they are not.

So we can't add your song (but of course we can list your comment)
