I believe the song "Rhythm of the Night" was credited by Debarge in most countries. It was a the name of family band. El Debarge (the lead singer) became a solo act shortly after.

You are correct, the confusion between El DeBarge (the solo artist) and DeBarge (the family group) has now been fixed in the source data.

The original issue came from an automatic script that identified group names like "Beatles" and "The Beatles" and proposed a merger between them (it assumed that "El DeBarge" and "DeBarge" were two variants names of the same group). Unfortunately this was accepted by the checker (who was reviewing hundreds of such entries).
