In 1992 Love song/Alive and Kicking peaked 6 on UK chart,(#31) in this case should it be combined with #2 and #15? #15 is Top 20 in 1992 Holland list, should chart positions from re-released singles ranked separately? Anotherexample :Should I Stay Or Should I go by The Clash, Same song became a hit in 1983 and 1991. Situations like this always happen in England.
Simple Minds had a UK hit in 1981 with "Love Song" and in 1985 with "Alive & Kicking". The fact that a rerelease of these two in 1992 was also a hit gives us an issue. We could have split the two songs and added a year (so "Love Song (1992)" for example) or just left the title as a double. Because the only chart that has the double listed is the UK one we decided to leave the listing as you see it. Any edits would give misleading entries, we felt this was the least bad way to leave it.
In general we try to make as few adjustments to entries as possible, however there are occasions where every option gives a result that has an issue. In those cases we try and be both consistent and to select the least bad option.
We always welcome input from users, and you will see many pages here have suggested edits that we are happy to make. On this occasion we think the current entries are the best option. However we do thank you for your suggestion and hope you will continue to point out our inconsistencies.

I'm thinking about if [Don't you should ranked higher in 1985.This is sounbelievable although it has only peaked at #7. Additionally the songs that spent many weeks on chart should ranked higher in your chart, do you think you should fix it,or you have a better way to cope with it? It's hard to say how could we make it better.
The fact that many of the charts don't have any duration makes that even harder. In places where we have more detail we can take a "better" approach, see chart2000.com for an example.
