Data Category

The critical information can usually be divided into groups of related elements. Each category will usually encompass many data types.

In data management information can typically be bundled into related groupings. They will commonly come from the same sources, be managed in similar ways and be consumed by the same audiences. Rather than document each data type individually they will typically be gathered into "categories" of related types.
