Spreadsheet |

A computer application that simulates a set of paper worksheets by displaying a grid of cells. Each cell either holds a value or calculates its value from other cells. This ability to rapidly recalculate a cascading set of cells gives the spreadsheet metaphor its power.
The first spreadsheet programs, in particular VisiCalc and Lotus 1-2-3, were the Killer Apps of the Apple-II and original IBM PC.
