Ensuring that certain attribute of the data can only have a restricted set of values (for example storing the identifier of another item). When considering this data quality metric it is important to understand where the reference data is defined and how it may be altered.
Typically these restrictions in the data form are documented by defining the taxonomy that each refernce value must stick to.
