A data transport form that is physical. Part of the data form.

There are too many different media to describe, the most commonly encountered are:

CD
DVD
Tape Formats, such as DAT, 9",
Memory Cards such as Compact Flash, SD Cards, XD, MMC
USB Sticks
Floppy Disks such as 3.5", 5.25" and 8"
